We now have a consultant based in the UK who provides oversight and programme
development on a six weekly basis to local programmes. This improves the quality of the programmes
Autism Partnership provides and increases the level of support our Programme Supervisors receive.
Consultation sessions are conducted with the therapy team and parents either at the clinic, in school or at the family home.

We provide case supervision and training to staff that
parents recruit. These services include programme development, evaluation
and refinement. Our Supervisor meets with parents and staff for fortnightly
team meetings and works directly with therapists for a total of 8-12 hours
per month. During meetings questions are addressed regarding teaching and
general behaviours. These meetings should include the tutors, supervisor,
parents and child and consists of discussions concerning treatment progress,
brainstorming, programme evaluation and refinement, and continued training for
the treatment team including parents. A portion of the session includes an
observation of current programmes and direct feedback to the treatment team.
This is an essential part of treatment for every child. These sessions are
held at the clinic or in the family home.

We are able to offer direct weekly therapy hours provided by a trained staff member of Autism Partnership in London,
Leeds, Manchester and other areas in the North of England.
This is especially recommended during the first six months of a child's therapy programme.
These sessions can take place in the clinic, which provides additional benefits for the child.
Please contact us regarding availability of staff.

We provide consultation to assist schools in the education of students with autism,
utilizing empirically validated, behaviourally based methods. We emphasize practical,
positive, and proactive approaches that have proven to be effective in advancing the
educational progress of autistic children. Consultations typically involve developing
a plan to facilitate a student’s successful placement in the optimal educational setting.
This includes identification of a student’s educational needs and development of a specific
intervention and teaching plan to meet these needs. Consultations can be provided for
individual students, classrooms or schools. School personnel are provided supervision and
training in the process of program development and implementation of behavioural teaching strategies.

We are able to offer group ABA teaching sessions in the clinic setting for children
with similar skill and behavioural objectives. Group sessions offer an opportunity
to provide instruction on skills such as observational learning, social communication
and cooperative play while providing frequent opportunities to practice the skills with
peers of the same age group. Additionally, these sessions provide an opportunity to generalise skills learned in the home setting and build skills necessary for pre-school
or school settings.
We are currently running 3 social skills groups for children ranging in age from 7 to 13.
These groups are open to children who do not have other services, but would benefit from
systematic teaching in the area of social skills in an engaging group format. We are currently organizing
groups for pre-school to Year 1 children to address classroom and social skills. Please
contact us regarding the availability of sessions.

Our staff conduct on-site training workshops for
families, therapists and teachers throughout the
U.K. and in other countries. These workshops are
designed to provide you with the necessary skills to
implement a behavioural treatment programme for your
child. It is recommended that you videotape the
workshop for later reference. Training includes an
overview of autism, principles of Applied Behaviour
Analysis, a description of the treatment programme
for autistic children, a review of research
findings, and demonstration of teaching with your
child. The emphasis of the workshops, however, is to
provide participants with practical experience so
that at the conclusion you will be able to
understand and use the treatment techniques
successfully with your child. During the workshop,
each person will have numerous opportunities to
practice implementing the teaching programmes under
the kind, but watchful, eye of an expert and receive
feedback to improve their skills. We will carefully
assess the strengths and weaknesses of your child
and leave you with a detailed curriculum to follow
over the ensuing months. We will be available by
phone or email to answer questions and give guidance
as your child progresses in treatment. We will
return for ongoing follow-up.
In order to get the maximum benefit from the
workshop, you will want to first assemble your
treatment team. You should invite school personnel
and coordinate the workshop to fit their schedule as
well as the other therapists. We recommend a
three-day workshop for one child. If there is more
than one child to be served, or other special needs,
additional days may be necessary.
